Steve Newman reports: "Nothing new to report here. Little Charlotte just turned 5 and begins kindergarten in the fall. Karen and Snoopy also are doing fine. I continue my efforts to keep the world safe for well-meaning but misunderstood enormous financial institutions."
Brad Denton has big news: "Let's see, it's been a couple years. Must be time to dredge up something interesting. I bet I'm one of the few in the class of 95 who just became a grandparent! Below is a photo of my youngest daughter Eve (the blonde) and and my granddaughter Ellie Rose (brunette). A jillion pictures, personal details about the family, and my wife's musings about all manner of other stuff can be found on our family blog, bjdentonfamily.blogspot.com. Our oldest, Heidi (the one with the baby) is married and in nursing school. Tucker, 19, is a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City. So we're like empty nesters now, except we have five kids left. Still at home we have one in high school, two in elementary school, a four-year old and a one-year old. Professionally speaking, I'm still living the dream in the Phoenix area. Doing franchising law, general business, and some commercial litigation. Also some real estate investing."
And John Eastman writes: "The big news from the Eastman household is that son Benjamin (yes, the one born in November of our 1L year) just entered the Air Force Academy. He’s at Basic Cadet Training this summer, with no contact with us except for snail mail. We’re grappling with the first to leave the nest, and jumping into it 72 hours after he graduated from high school was quite a shock! Anyway, we’re very proud of him, and hope everyone in the class will keep him in their thoughts and prayers as he undertakes one of the most arduous first year college experiences around.
Daughter Christina will be a Junior in High School next year, and is making great strides toward a music career. She has her own string quartet, and this past year they played for the opening reception at the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. In September, they are playing for the annual Bishops Dinner of the Knights of Malta!
Elizabeth continues to teach at Chapman, and after my year’s sojourn into things political (the campaign for California Attorney General) and a visitorship at the University of San Diego Law School, I am back on the Chapman Law Faculty, teaching constitutional law and running the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence and the constitutional law clinic it sponsors. We’re involved in the health care litigation in Florida and Virginia, the Proposition 8 (marriage) litigation in California, the SB1070 immigration litigation in Arizona, to name just a few of the “non-controversial” cases on our docket!"
