Is there a more universal rite of preschool and kindergarten than the "what are you thankful for" artwork at this time of year? Thought you'd enjoy seeing what my boys are thankful for:
Rafi says, "I am thankful for my family."
Sam says, "I am thankful for doggies."Anyone surprised? Didn't think so.
We're headed off to the Oberlander/Medow/Lichts in St. Louis shortly. Of course, if you ask Sam who we're going to see, he'll tell you "Ebbets and Camden and Farfel." (Those, needless to say, are the Oberlander and Medow dogs.) If you say, "are we going to see any people?" he says, "No. Just doggies."
Rafi's class put on a wonderful Thanksgiving play and feast for the parents this morning. The kids wore Native American and Pilgrim costumes, and spelled out "Thanksgiving Feast" - 12 letters in Thanksgiving, 13 kids, means Rafi got to be the whole word "Feast." Then they sang us a bunch of great Thanksgiving songs, including "Albequerque, I'm a Turkey," which was new to me.
I'll leave you with some artwork - the kids did Thanksgiving recipes. Rafi's, for stuffing, is below. As a group, they were all hilarious.
Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving everyone! Safe travels!
