I've been waiting an awfully long time to report that something Rafi said made me laugh for a reason other than pronunciation. Tonight, it happened. We're been reading books in anticipation of the upcoming holidays. One of them has a bit in it, of course, about eating apple with honey. I've read the book to him a bunch of times now, so when I got up to the part that says "we dip apples in honey" I paused to let him fill in the last word (he's doing this quite nicely with many of his books now). So I said "We dip apples in...." and Rafi said, "ketchup!" Because, as we have learned, in Rafi-land everything tastes better dipped in ketchup.
To round out this post, some photos. We've had some visitors lately - Rafi's buddy Elan came over last Sunday after our class picnic was rained out. The boys played piano and roughhoused with Elan's mom Michal.

Yesterday, we were joined at the Cubs game by Mila and Eli and the lovely Yelena. After the game, the kids had a good time playing with trains and blocks:

And today we mostly hung around the house. Rafi seems to be taking after his daddy (and my daddy). Here he is helping Brian fix the shower:

And finally, it wouldn't be a fun Sunday at home without doing several loads of laundry. Rafi, for no apparent reason, asked to wear Daddy's socks. Here's the results.

It's official - you have the cutest child ever. No bias here. (Wearing daddy's socks? Adorable!)
